A Wedding To Remember
a Harry Potter story
by symphonyflute
Dumbledore was dead. He had dated Ginny Weasley. At least two fragments of Voldemort's soul had been destroyed. They had won the quidditch cup. Dumbledore was dead.
6th year had been one hell of a year for Harry Potter, and even though it was nearinng the end of summer, Garry still couldn't get over what had happened. All the memories, snogging his best mates sister; getting knocked out with a beater bat; finding the horcrux that wasn't, Dumble dore dying; were stil so fresh in his mind it felt like no time had gone by at all. But it had, about two months. Two months he'd had to process everything, but hadn't processed any of it. Two months he'd wanted to make sure his friends were ok, but had been unable to. All summer, he's agonized over not knowing how Ron, Hermione, Neville, Luna, and the other DA members were.
That was, untill he'd recieved an owl that told him everyone was ok: An to the wedding of Bill and Fleur.
So that's why Harry was sitting on his bed beside his trunk, overwhelmed by memories as he waited for Mr Weasley to come pick him up.
One ackward good-bye to the Dursleys, three hours in a ministry of magic car and several misprononciations of muggle words (courtesy of mr Weasley, who was wearing a red hawaiin shirt, pink and orange striped hotpants, and black combat boots) later, Harry arrived at the only place besides Hogwarts he could call home: The Burrow. While to him, the Burrow was always one of the mostbeautiful places in the world, they had obviously gone to great lengths to make it beautiful to everyone else, which made sense, seeing s the ceremony would be held in the backyard. It looked as if it had been scrubbed, for one thing. And it was decorated wiith ice statues that didn't melt, pretty flowers, and several pictures of the happy couple hanging in midair. It truely was a breathtaking sight.
"Hey Harry!" Harry looked up to see Ron waving to him from the front steps.
"Hey," he replied, giving his friend a big hug. It was great to see him again. Together, they walked into the kir=tchen where Mrs Weasley left her cooking just long enough to tell Harry he was too skinny and shoo them from the kitchen. Since Mr Weasley was with Bill, Ginny was with Fleur, Fred and George were getting the yard set up with Mr Weasley supervising, and the guests hadn't arrived yet, the two boys set off to Ron's room to play wizards chess.
Harry sat between Ron, wearing the dressrobes the twins had bought him, and Hermione, who looked great in her yellow dress with her hear sleakeazy'd, on a wooden chair in the back yard.
There were beautiful white flowers everywhere. White rioses to be specific. They were everywhere: hanging, tied to chairs, in Ginny and Gabrielle's (the two bridesmaids) boquets, and in their hair.
They were pretty all right, but they were driving Harry nuts. His nose was itching like crazy, and no matter how much he eubbed it, the feeling wouldn't go away. In fact, it was getting worse.
"ihh...ihhh" he started, his face screwing up, "ihhh..."
"Harry?" Hermione looked up just in time to see hiss expression. "Are you O-"
"ICCHOOO!" Harry sneezed, bringing his hands to his face, "AHCHOO!"
"Bless you," hermione told him kindly.
Harry sniffed wetly. "I'm fine," he assured her.
"That's good," she replird, "because it's starting."
And sure enough, the band started to play a slow, melodic peice. Ginny amd Gabrielle atarted to walk down the aisle.
"Mum wanted to get Celestina Warbeck," Ron whispered, nodding toward the band. "Phlegm flipped out."
Harry snorted with laughter. Unfortunatly, this made his nose itch even more. He really didn't want to sneeze now, though. Not in the middle of the wedding.
"ETTCHSH!" He couldn't help it, the flowers were really getting to him. Several people around him turned to look at him and he blushed. Thankfully, the band started playing 'here comes the bride', and everyone started to look at Fleur, who had just began her descent down the aisle. She looked positively radient, and Harry was momentarily awed.
His moment of staring stupidly at the bride ended rather quickly, at least compared to pretty much every other male in the audience. What shook him out of it was the fact that his nose was being crazy again. It tickled like mad and twitched against the finger he had laid underneath it, and he knew that there was nothing he could do to stop this sneeze.
"ahh...ahhh...ixxhth" He managed to stifle it completely. A good accomplishment, but it hadn't helped his nose at all. "ixxcht" He sneezed again, not being able to control the feeling. "etschh. ixxsh". Finally, he was done. His nose still itched, but it wasn't the same desperete need as before.
Harry managed to keep from interupting the ceremony. He had sneezed dozens of times, but quiet enough that only Hermiona and Ron could hear him. The only downside was that Hermione kept blessing him with a worried look on her face, and Ron kept telling him to shut up.
"Harry!" Harry looked up to see a whir of orange hair as Ginny threw her arms around him. "It's so good to see you!"
It was great to see her too, and he wanted very much to tell her so, nut was unable to. The roses were still adorned in her hair, and he'd gotten a huge whiff of them when she hugged him. The only problem was that he couldn't sneeze either. His nose tickled like never before, but the sneeze refused to come out.
"ahhh...ahhh.. oh bloody hell!" Harry cursed, rubbing his nose, "I hate when this happ-"
"Harry?" Ginny looked at him worridly.
"AACCHOO!!" He finally exploded, bending forward at the waist.
"Bless you," Hermione said. "Still fine?"
Harry rubbed his node and sniffled. "Actually, I think I might be allergic to the roses," he admitted.
"Why didn't you tske an allergy potion?"
"They make allergy potions?"
"The first one was made by charolette Jenson, Hogwarts nurse from 1678-1701," Hermione told him, her voice taking on a bit of repremanding quality. "You would know that if you ever bothered to read Hogwarts, a History.

Big HBP spoiler. Beware. If I owned Harry Potter, Dumbledore Cedric, and Sirius would still be alive.
